The Baylander, nestled along the scenic Hudson River Greenway in New York City, offers a vibrant gastronomic experience brimming with American comfort fare. Critics and patrons alike are enchanted by the picturesque views, making it a prime destination for summer outings. The lively atmosphere paired with engaging cocktails, such as the Admiral's Punch and Big Apple Frose, sets the stage for a delightful dining occasion. The menu boasts appealing sharables; however, the calamari receives mixed reviews for its breading not living up to crisp expectations. Shani B. relishes the flavors but desires a crunchier texture, while Amanda Burley simply finds it lacking spice. Fried clam strips and Buffalo wings, however, strike a chord, underscoring the kitchen's ability to deliver classic favorites that shine with fresh ingredients. Desserts like freshly baked chocolate chip cookies add a sweet conclusion to a meal, while guests appreciate the casual ordering system—an order at the bar followed by buzzer service. The warm welcome from the staff, coupled with stunning sunset views, fosters a relaxed yet convivial atmosphere ideal for gatherings, whether it be an engagement party or casual hangout with friends. The Baylander successfully charms diners, creating memorable moments amidst the city’s hustle, though it would benefit from addressing occasional dish critiques. As you unwind with a drink in hand, the experience at The Baylander feels both special and refreshing.

Visiting from Philly. The perfect way to spend a beautiful day outside in the summer. The workers were great, the music was lively, and the views were picture perfect. I can’t wait to go back. My only criticism is regarding the calamari. First, let me say that the dish was delicious! However? I wish the breading was different. It wasn’t as crispy as I would have liked, especially when it comes with a sauce.

Great Beach shack food, great views, plenty of space. its the perfect summer stop for drinks and snacks on the Hudson. love bringing my small dog and chowing down on some fries and supping cold drinks watching the sunset. My only complaint is that they discontinued the old bay fries!

Cool experience. Order drinks and food at the bar. You get a buzzer to pick up your food at the window when it is ready. It was crowded and there was a birthday party event happening when we went. I recommend a reservation if you can! Especially for sunset. The fish taco and lobster toll and hot dog were great. I won't order the calamari again but it wasn't bad, it wasn't spicy and just didn't seem worth it.

I came here for an engagement party, and was pleasantly surprised by the great views. The mixed drinks were quite good, and the overall vibe of the vessel was chill. I recommend bringing a jacket/hoodie, as it gets a little windy. Also, there's decent street parking a block over.

It's beautiful to see that my neighborhood can enjoy the same things as those who live below 96 Street. I went on a Wednesday, and they had a private party but were opening up for the public at 3:15pm. Hostess was very informative. Told us how to order, where to pick up, and also where the restroom was. The maintenance staff were on point, a napkins fell, and they were right there to pick it up. I had the pretzels, and it was so soft and delicious. The sauces are one cheese and the other mustard. It was wonderful to know they have mocktails and non-alcoholic beer. Will definitely return loved the sun and feeling the waves.

Went here for company gathering (Columbia) and will say that I am going to return. Very nice location, parking across the street. Food and drinks were amazing. The views are also a plus.

The Baylander is such a vibe. First off- it’s a ship! Some slight rocking but that’s to be expected- it’s on the water and the tunes don’t disappoint if you feel like rocking simultaneously. It’s right on the west side highway perfectly perched on the 125th street pier. The environment is very welcoming. A perfect place for drinks after work or for a nice date with that special someone. You can even pull up on a jet ski or boat for a quick meal. I truly enjoyed my time here. The food is great! I had the Harlem Lobster Roll- the meat was big, juicy, and tasty. I paired it with some crispy fries and a Damn The Torpedoes cocktail. So peeps- Make your way to the Baylander for an awesome time I definitely recommend this establishment.
